Weekly Weigh in 4/19/2012 I LOST ALL MY BABY WEIGHT!!

Whoa this new Blogger layout is weird! Oh well, I will get used to it.
.
So, yesterday I weighed at 169.8!!!!

{Today I am 170.1, but I know weight fluctuates so I am claiming yesterday's weight!!}

I was THRILLED all day. I had to go look at old pictures to see where I was in life the last time I weighed this much. It was right after we were married! Obviously, because I got pregnant about 4 months after we were married. ha.
.
I looked at my old weight loss blog in order to check that. I remember I was around 170 when I started that weight loss blog and took before photos and all, so that is convenient.

I am not going to cross it off my goals until it's solidly in the 160's but I was too excited not to claim it today.

I have officially lost ALL MY BABY WEIGHT!!! Yeah yeah yeah! HIGH KICKS!!

I had lost all but 3-4 lbs before when I had done Weight Watchers and before I moved to Colorado and started dealing with depression and gained it all back. I was SOOO close last time, so this is just HUGE to me!

Now, I would LOVE to be 165 by my marathon, but I am not sure about that. I am taking a day off my training today, which I have NEVER done...but I can't seem to kick my sickness and my run on Tuesday was super hard for me. So with this drop in training and how I am supposed to be adding more carbs to my diet and totally resting my body, I am not sure that it's going to happen?
.
We shall see. My birthday is in 10 days and I wanted to be under 170 by then, so if I don't gain I will have met that goal! Woo hoo!! My birthday happens to also be my 5th month progress update:)

So I still want to get to 140 as my ultimate goal weight and I would love to be that by when we go on our end of summer vacation to Sedona , AZ which is at the end of August. I have decided after I get back from the marathon/California vacation I am going to start other challenges that I am going to video weekly progress on. I think that has really helped me. So I will look into that.
.

I am soooo nervous about my marathon now. I feel like somehow my mind let down after my 20 miles, like I was done...but I'm NOT! Depending on how I feel I might skip my 12 miles this weekend, but on the other hand I feel like I really want to run it in order to get my confidence back and that I CAN do this.

Will let you know how it goes!!!

Weekly Weigh-In & Update: 4/12/2012

Well, I just weighed and the result was....

171.8!!!

Being under 170 is so close I can taste it.
,
I was not sure I would see a loss this week with Easter being last weekend. I allowed myself a few treats, for sure.

But the last 2 weeks I have added a few more calorie burning into my non-running days (including cleaning more than I normally would, ha ha) and I was hoping that would pay off!

I think I will try and stay as "strict" as possible this weekend after my 20 miles in order to see that 169 on the scale. That would mean losing 2lbs in this next week, but that seems totally doable!!

My life the last few months

Friday, April 6, 2012

Oh there you are....

So, I am claiming it this morning...
that scale said 172.6....
name it and claim it. ha ha
I hope it's not a weird fluke that read lower than what it is, but after my disappointment yesterday I had to claim it on the blog here today. HA

The BAsics Behind Weight Loss

Weekly Weigh-In & Update: 4/05/2012

Today when I weighed this morning I was 175.1 or something over 175, I forget the exact.

Frustrating for sure, but when I weighed after running I was about 173.6...that's better. At least I know its a lot of the water weight. I still am not going to count any weight loss tho, until it's official and not running loss.

I feel nervous about the weight loss for some reason. I think because I am hungry and I want some treats and I am not tracking. I am trying to be aware still about it, not just eating mindlessly, but still feel weird about it.
starts in the mind
I am trying to really focus on hitting my next big goal, which I decided is 165...so 10 lbs. I decided to make sure I am drinking all my water, or at least 64 oz a day. I also decided to try to do things that will help me accumulate more calorie defecit every day and actually DO my cross training days that are on my marathon scheduling, which I haven't.

On Monday I did reps of lunges, squats, planks, burpees, etc and I STILL hurt from that. I decided maybe I won't work my legs so hard with all the running. Instead I will work on my arms and core and then do a few jumping jacks and stand more than I usually do, just to add a few more kick ups to the loss.

I believe that is why not seeing an obvious loss this week is annoying, I mean adding all that in and for goodness sake I ran 23 miles over the weekend alone, plus 9 on Tuesday...blah. Maybe I will have a loss tomorrow.
So true.
Anyways, I need to track, I know that will help and I am not sure why I am rebelling against it.

My marathon is one month away tomorrow, I can't believe it. I feel awesome about it right now and I am excited, about it and about vacation!!

Until next week....

Weekly Weigh-In & Update: 3/22/2012

Today I am at....
175.2
Yeah I lost 1.5 lbs this week, yeah!!

So let me fill you in with how I am doing, really.

I am still trying, but I am slacking a bit for sure, even though trying to be aware.

I was having a huge craving since about this time last week for a shake that they make at Good Times.

You know the one with peanuts, peanut butter, chocolate and all that.

YEAH, that one.
.
So I made the decision I was going to have one, on Saturday, after my long run, as a treat.

And that night I was so tired my husband just got us dinner from there. Usually NOT such a good thing.

I decided to just have him get me a kids meal. So I had the cheeseburger, the fries, and the shake.

I think this is a good lesson for me, because I can eat these things in moderation...SOMETIMES!

Last week I tracked my calories on Spark People and I think I have decided I  will track them every other week just to keep them in line.
.
There is something I really like about doing this on my own and not on any program, it helps me rely on my brain rather than a system that I am not sure how really works, but I lose weight on it. I feel like learning to know how much I can eat and still lose is empowering.

I am still nervous about when the day comes when I am not running anymore, but again, I can't worry about that until I cross that bridge.

I really want to kick things up for April.

It looks like I am on track to have lost 5 maybe 6 lbs for the month of March, which is great...but I really wanted to be 165 by my marathon. So if I can the full 2lbs every week I should be able to make that especially with my most training happening in these next few weeks. So, I may need to be a little more vigilant and try to add a few more workouts in...if I can keep my eyes open.
Thanks, cause I'm slow or slower.
This training makes me SO tired-slash-STARVING!!!

Will keep you posted...

Weekly Weigh-In & Update: 3/08/2012

Welcome back to this week's weigh in.

Drum Roll Please.....

Today I am 178!!!!

Yeah!

Down a 1.5 lb from last week, and this was the number I really wanted to see.

Last weekend I was starting to get worried and down because I had a "tough" eating weekend, more like Thursday through Sunday if I am honest.

We ate out all 4 of those days, and by Monday morning I was up 3 lbs. So discouraging!
Collage
I decided that I needed to start tracking my calories again since I had drifted away from my eating plan. As I did I noticed that a shake that I was having every day was WAY more calories then I had thought it was. So maybe I won't make that every day. Everything in it was so good, I thought it couldn't be bad...but turns out, when you are trying to lose weight you really have to pay attention. So I will keep tracking so it can keep me in line. Its amazing how many calories you can be consuming without even realizing it.

Only 8 more lbs to go till my first goal weight!! I really want to get focused again so I can get there before my birthday at least. If I stay on this track I should be able to do it.

Also, people are starting to notice I think. I have seen my body changing slowly over the past three months and I just know I have a long way to go still, but other people are telling me I look smaller. Yeah! It's actually real. Sometimes it feels like it takes so long that nothing is really changing, if that makes sense.

Pray for my first 15 miles this Saturday, I am kinda nervous!!!!

I have to credit that to the running.
I have to say that it’s not like my clothes are loose on me or anything, which is a bit disappointing. I guess they do fit A LOT better, so that is something to be excited about.

This is the end of the 12th week for me and my family, if no one else, is starting to notice the change in me…especially my face.

I would really like to be another 10lbs down by  my birthday with is 2 months from today which would put me at 169 and that would officially get me lower than when I got pregnant with my son which would be HUGE!

Even though I am not being as regimented as when I started I am starting to be aware. Choose the best option when going out, being mindful and all that. I believe that has slowed the process down but its more realistic for me.

How about you guys?

Weekly Weigh-In & Update: 2/16/2012

Morning all.

Today I am up
+.5

So this week I am back up the half a pound I supposedly lost last week.

It was Valentines Day on Tuesday and my husband and I did go out and I had some
creme brulee!
 It was very yummy!

I have to say that although I am not going "over board" I am also not tracking or eating the way I have been or am supposed to be doing.(As in not getting in my veggies the way I should, etc)
I feel like I have lost a bit of my drive, so trying to find it again.
Need to get back to really staying on plan and writing everything down.

I think being sick has made a big difference in draining my energy and all.
I am really getting tired of the cold days and winter in general. I realize we are only half way through February but I am looking forward to spring.

Here is to a new week!!

Weekly Weigh-In & Update: 2/9/2012

This morning I am 183

so -.5 this week.

I am totally fine with that because as I weighed myself this week I was always up 2 or 3 pounds, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that this morning.

Sometimes I wonder if the eating plan I am on is working or worth it. I guess because I am not losing as fast as I would like. But I am losing every week even if its only half a pound a week. It's something. That is better then plateauing or gaining! So I will stick to it for now.

I am trying to just be more aware of how much I am eating even if I don't stick to it exactly. For instance, we really are out of ALL our veggies right now, so its hard for me to get my 4 servings in, so I try to not to compensate by eating more starches because I am hungry.
{We should hopefully restock tonight?!}

Also we bought a JUICER last night! I am so excited to try it. I am sure veggie juice will not be so yummy, but there is something about getting the nutrients without having to chew some of those leafy greens that is appealing to me. So if I come up with some great juicing recipes I will surely share!

How are you guys doing?

Weekly Weigh-In & Update: 2/3/2012

Hello All!

Still plugging along here.

I was just complaining to my friend last night about my SLOW weight loss,
when what do you know but I was down to
183.5
this morning!
Say what?

So I lost 2.5 this week!

WHOA!

No doubt running 26 miles Saturday through Thursday had something to do with it.

{I am actually just realizing I should have done this yesterday, that is how thrown off I was from switching my long run!!}

Thank goodness, it is encouraging to see that if you just keep your head down and take your 1/2 a lb a week, they at least will add up eventually. I am looking forward to reaching that 20 lb lost mark and being back in the 170's.

I do feel MUCH better in my clothes and eating seems way more under control.

I keep remembering this quote...

I believe I am at week 9, so 3 more weeks and hopefully the world will notice, ha ha.

Month 2- Monthly Update

November

 January

November

January

6.5 more lbs lost
3 inches lost this month

What can I say about this month?
Well in two days I will have finished my first month doing the concepts of Pure Weight Loss and also finishing my first month of marathon training!

I am more excited about finishing my first month of training.
I am going to see how this month goes with the Pure Weight Loss thing and if I don't feel like its working for me any differently I might go back to just counting calories?

We shall see? I know for sure I want to try and keep my fruit and veggie intake HIGH and this is a diet that guarantees that. Also Daniel and I are going to try and get a juicer when we get our tax return money and really try to get our fruits and veggies in that way.

It's so easy to know how bad fast food is for you, but so easy to stop and get it. Especially when you are really hungry and don't have anything planned. That happened to us today, we almost got two different places on our way home but we didn't.

I am sure there will be times when we will, I think I just have to keep in mind that it is the "on occasion" and not 4 times a week like we had been.

BALANCE!

I have come across some good blogs recently and I am looking forward to reading and learning from them. One talks a lot about Intuitive Eating and the little I have read on it, it sounds really good. I will do a post about my thoughts on that soon.

2 months down...many more to go!

Weekly Weigh-In & Update: 1/26

This week I am down another half a pound, so 186.

That is fine, I will take it, it is still a step in the right direction, regardless of how small.

The time will pass anyways, so I may as well be taking steps toward my goal rather than being frustrated in any way and giving up.

I feel like I have this fighter spirit in me, that I want to fight this, I want to struggle with it and win, for ONCE!

Any other times I have lost weight, I don't think I ever went through the emotional part, I never made myself recognize and deal with. I just went through the motions, and it worked, but if the reason I overeat and choose the wrong foods are because of the emotional side then I have never really dealt with it in whole.

Take yesterday as an example. I was soooooo tired. This is a huge detriment to me and I know that from the past. It's like my body shuts down because my mind can't find the strength. These past couple days have been the first that I have really felt like, uhhhhhh this is so hard and getting old.

I considered writing here in order to get it out. It was a scheduled "CORE" workout day for my marathon training which I had planned to do Bob Harper's Warrior Yoga (PS all his dvds are $5 right now!). But my hip sockets or the top of my legs were very sore. I am thinking from doing two hard workouts in a row this weekend, like I probably shouldn't have done and I really didn't feel like it.

It was a sunny day and my son has been trapped at home all day for too many days so I decided we would go on a walk. It was a GORGEOUS day! Usually I run around the lake that is in our apartments and I don't get the same points of view as when you walk and take it all in. It was melting and I don't know if the geese were excited to finallyclean their feathers but not joke about 500 of them flew into the lake while we were walking around it. (I hoped they would not poop on us on the way!)

Plus I love when you can start feeling spring in the air, you know where its warm, sunny and beautiful. I know its still January and we have snow due us, even tomorrow..but it was so nice just the same. My son fell asleep on the walk and therefore would NOT take a nap when we got back, which was what I was planning on doing to feel better!

All  I could think about on our way back was how I was tired of salads, I wanted something fast easy and tasted really good. How my run the night before had sucked because it was cold, and I was sore, and I didn't particularly enjoy it. This was my first real attack of, THIS IS DUMB! I couldn't figure out why I was feeling this way but pinned it to the fact that I was really tired.

My hips were still so sore when we got back, so I started to look online about what I could do for it. Mostly I read that they are connected to the back which compensates for lack of a strong core, the very reason I was supposed to be doing my core work out. I REALLY want to be able to finish this marathon and I need a strong body to be able to do that. Plus I thought, maybe doing yoga would stretch out my legs in order to feel better.

At the end of his work out Bob says that sometimes when we are tired and stressed we go to get some chocolate for a little boost, but try a spine stretch..it gives you a burst of blood to the head. He went on about having energy to finish the day, blah blah blah. As I was laying there in my yoga sweat I thought, yeah right. But when I was finished I felt a MILLION times better. I did have more energy and my hips were warm and not sore. I was really amazed by this.

This week has also been hard as my sister-in-law who usually watches my son for me while I run is out of town so I have been trying to find alternatives. Like today I am considering taking my son in the jogger for my hard 3 miles, ahhh....we shall see?

Sunday is my monthly picuture update and measurements.

I feel like this month went by pretty quick and although maybe I didn't lose as much this month as my first month, I can tell my inches are different. So I am looking forward to measuring and seeing.

See ya Sunday!

Weekly Weigh-In and Update 1/19

I was convinced this week I wouldn't see a loss.
I was vacillating between 188-189 all week, which was kinda annoying considering how very hard I had been trying.
{These are the things that can really get you considering what the point of all the might be}
Pinned Image
BUT this morning I was relieved and excited to see 186.5, finally! Come on body, get in the groove por favor!

So another lb and a half this week! Yeah!

Slowly but surely!!!

Here are some motivating images for you....
